Before taking the California bar, she was a Paralegal, earning her Paralegal Certificate through the University of California San Diego Extension with high scholastic attainment that resulted in her induction to the Lambda Epsilon Chi Honors Society.
She is a military spouse that has leveraged her education and legal experience during each move. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, she became the Paralegal Coordinator at the Legal Assistance Office, Camp Foster earning the Gold Presidential Volunteer Award in 2018 and 2019, and the 2018 Marine Corps Community Services Volunteer Service Award for her service. During her time at Legal Assistance, she assisted Judge Advocates and Volunteer Attorneys in drafting marital separation agreements, wills and powers of attorney.
While stationed in Virginia, she joined a local family law firm assisting in divorce, custody and adoptions cases by drafting pleadings, discovery, managing client communications and offering translation services for Spanish speaking clients.
During her college years in El Salvador, she pursued her internship at her university’s Legal Clinic, providing family law assistance to low-income families. As a law student she also volunteered her free time with a local nonprofit, leading quick advise clinics in remote towns and facilitating access to legal aid.
Although not currently active, in previous years she was also authorized as a Notary Public in California, Virginia and as Federal Notary Public.
Andrea aims to use her diverse background and experience to connect with a broad range of clients, provide an understanding and sympathetic approach while focusing on achieving the best outcome in an efficient way.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and furry baby, exploring the culinary scene San Diego has to offer and traveling to visit family.
